What is the Member Referral Program? Icon/UI/plus-circle

The Member Referral Program is a small way for us to thank you for sharing Saskatchewan Blue Cross with your friends, family and other contacts. When one of your referrals signs up for a personal health plan, both you and the person you refer will be eligible for a referral reward.

How it works

After joining the program through our platform partner, Referral Rock, you’ll receive a unique referral link. All you need to join the program is your email address – you won’t need to create a password to revisit your member dashboard. Members can share your link with personal contacts, inviting them to apply for a personal health plan. If one of your referrals chooses to purchase a plan, both you and the person you refer will earn a $50 gift card.*

Members can login to your personal Member Portal to join the Member Referral Program. After logging in, scroll to the bottom of the page to find the purple box. Use the ‘Refer Now!’ button to get started!

*The referred member must keep their plan active for at least 90 days before both parties become eligible for the reward. Terms and conditions apply.

What is the reward for referring someone? Icon/UI/plus-circle

After the person you refer has been a member for 90 days, you will be rewarded with a $50 gift card.

Who can I refer to earn rewards? Icon/UI/plus-circle

You can refer any personal contact who is not already a Saskatchewan Blue Cross member. You might want to refer a friend or family member, social media contact, work colleague, or even an acquaintance you meet at the grocery store.

What conditions must be met for me to earn the reward? Icon/UI/plus-circle

In order for your referrals to count, you’ll need to do the following:

  • You must be a Saskatchewan Blue Cross member in good standing (i.e. no outstanding balances on your account).
  • You must create your account with Referral Rock to generate your unique sharing link.
  • The person you refer (the Referred) must use your unique sharing link to complete the brief information on the program landing page to enter the program. They must then submit an application for a Saskatchewan personal health plan.
  • The Referred must accept a policy offer from Saskatchewan Blue Cross and activate their plan.
  • The Referred must be a member in good standing for at least 90 days.

Rewards are typically paid within 30 days of the above conditions being met. Rewards are automatically sent to your email via Tango, our electronic gift card payment partner.

How do I track my referral status? Icon/UI/plus-circle

After joining the program, you can visit the My Referrals page on your Member Dashboard at any time to share a new referral or view referrals you’ve sent previously. There, you’ll see one of the following statuses for each reward:

  • Pending: Your referral link has been successfully sent, by your contact has not yet completed the sign-up process.
  • Qualified: The person you referred has met some, but not all of the eligibility requirements.
  • Approved: The person you referred has met all the eligibility requirements! You’ll both earn a referral reward as long as the Referred remains a member in good standing for at least 90 days.
  • Not qualified: Unfortunately, the person you referred is not eligible to sign up. This might be because they’re already a Saskatchewan Blue Cross member, another person has already initiated the referral process with them, or they have not satisfied the eligibility requirements to earn a reward.

You won’t be able to tell who has or has not used your referral link – this is to protect applicant and member privacy.

How can I tell if I have earned a reward? Icon/UI/plus-circle

You’ll receive an email telling you that a referral has satisfied the eligibility requirements and when to expect your reward to arrive. You can also visit the Referrals section of your Member Dashboard. To visit your Member Dashboard, login to your personal member portal and scroll to the bottom of the page to find the purple box. Use the ‘Refer Now!’ button to login to your Member Dashboard (this works even if you’ve already created an account).

Is there a limit to the number of people I can refer? Icon/UI/plus-circle

No! You can continue referring your contacts as much as you like.

Where can I find my unique referral link? Icon/UI/plus-circle

How can my contacts use my referral link? Icon/UI/plus-circle

After you share your referral link, the person you refer just needs to click the link to begin the process. They’ll fill out a short form, then proceed to the personal health plan application to take the next step.

I’ve referred someone in the past. Can I earn a reward for past referrals? Icon/UI/plus-circle

The Member Referral Program applies to future referrals only. Saskatchewan Blue Cross is not able to backdate or provide referral rewards for past referrals.

Can I call to tell you I’ve referred someone to earn the reward? Icon/UI/plus-circle

All referrals must be submitted through the Referral Rock platform to be counted as part of the Member Referral Program. Our Member Experience Team cannot manually add a person to the Program. Using the Member Referral Program platform is very simple – just create an account with your email address (no password needed!) and start sharing your referral link.

What if my friend signs up but forgets to use my link or code? Icon/UI/plus-circle

All referrals must use your unique link to be counted as part of the Member Referral Program. Our Member Experience Team cannot manually add a person to the Program.

Where am I allowed to share my referral link? Icon/UI/plus-circle

You can share your referral link however you choose – through email, text message, on your social media channels, or any other way you like.
